They don't have to like you... As long as you like you..

Lots of people throughout your life will tell you it's a bad thing to love yourself more than others. That it's being arrogant and self centered to put your well being before your loved ones. And a lot of those times, they will be correct. But, there will undoubtedly come a time in your life when you will need to put you first. Like once the kids are grown and the business is doing well and the marriage is finally happy. That's your time. To make your dreams come true. To learn to rest and to give your all to you. So many Women put there dreams and aspirations on hold to take care of everyone else. And we forget all about ourselves. So, eat the cake and the ice cream. Buy that lipstick and the shoes.
And remember those that are worth your time, won't question your need to love yourself...  They'll encourage it...

Say it ain't so!!!!

 My Grandma always says, " you reap what you sow". But dang. For all of us Chrisette Michelle lovers. It's a sad ,sad day. News on the web is that Capital Records has dropped Ms Epiphany like a hot potato. Of course, like all juicy and steamy celebrity gossip. This news does not come with any less, social media drama and opinions from the peanut gallery. Many are saying, that she ls getting her just deserts after being a sell out by performing at the Trump inauguration. When she knew full well that he was as against black folks as any 1840s slave master. And while, I must concur with most of my comrades and nod a swift yes. I still remain a fan. Not because of her political follies. But simply because, ole girl can sang.. So, personally ,I don't think that it'll be long before some music exec scoops her back up and has her crooning to some dope beat. Until then Ms. Michelle should  definitely be careful about the company she chooses to keep. Especially when it's a paper towel throwing President that makes fun of those with special needs.
But, all in all. She's good at what she does and that's belting out melodious sounds.

Hollywood's Been Served Notice

What does sexual abuse look like? Does it have a color, a sex, a social standard? Obviously not.. As of a few weeks ago, lots of the people we love to watch on tv and the big screen have come forward in support of the #metoo campaign. If you've been living under a rock. (😒). Then maybe you haven't been privy to the news headlines of Movie director Harvey Weinstein and the many women that have come forward in accusation of Mr. Weinsteins inability to keep his hands to himself. Days after the breaking news of Mr. Weinsteins dismissal from his own company. Many of our favorite people were making there way to the forefront confessing that they too had been sexually assaulted while working in the entertainment industry by various higher ups. Gabrielle Union was compelled to tell her story of survival during a sexual assault at a store that she worked in as a teenager. Alyssa Milano confessed to being assaulted by a Hollywood Mogul as well. While I originally thought that these claims would obviously be female gender based. I was left speechless when Terry Crews admitted to being assaulted in front of his wife. When I heard that, I literally almost lost my lunch. Terry Crews? While the tall dark and handsome specimen is definitely eye candy to the ladies. The thought that another man would feel secure enough to physically assault this huge , physically fit man. I'm in shock. As outsiders we've long thought that the glitz and glammer of being a superstar was easy, peasy. Boy were we ever wrong.

Thankfully the people that have been misutilizing there authority in these roles. Have been put on notice and will now hopefully think twice about what they do and say to our fave tv stars.

Today I was browsing through the net and ran across an article that said that Monica Lewinsky was joining the #metoo campaign. Now before you start rolling your eyes and popping your necks. ( cause I did enough for us both)
Let's just give her a break. I mean the info that was disclosed during the Bill and Monica scandal was the TMI that we all would like to forget. We weren't there and don't know the while story. So, I'll giver her a slight pass to express herself and heal from the embarrassment that has followed her since then.

Hopefully this campaign will aid other men and women to reach for the support and compassion to get through there pain.

Yup Yup!!!!

Its Been A Long Time Coming

In an effort to restructure my life. I have begun the process of elimination and renovation. About a year ago I decided to no longer clutter up my closets with old things that I have either out grown, can't fit or has just gone  out of style.

One day I looked up and realized that I had tucked away all sorts of unwanted, unnecessary people and baggage that I was just holding on to for no reason at all.

I'm not even sure as to why I hadn't just junked the stuff and gotten it all over with but, I hadn't.
Once I was able to let go of the past and live for today and only today. That meant the relevant,  people, places and things...
I dropped those zeros. And found folks that would add to my greatness.
No pun intended to the old... But the new is always better.
All in all, the past is a great way to measure your progress and a way to learn how to avoid new pitfalls.

I'm pretty sure everyone is waking up with new resolutions for the year. And ready to jump into the New Year, New Me mode.
 But just remember , it doesn't have to take a new year to implement new values , goals and victories in our lives. With each new day, we should utilize our new grace and new mercy to the fullest by always striving to be a better person than we were the day, the minute or hour before.
